The greatest band I have seen live will be rocking Saturday Night... Live... this week. That band is My Morning Jacket. They have done Letterman and Conan, but SNL is a bigger beast!
Lots of bands have lots of followers that stumble onto them in relative obscurity, then ride along with them as they "grow" to become critical darlings, with each successive album being dissected to the bones. Then it just gets surreal, because it can be so gradual it doesn't hit quite as hard, when the band achieves greatness. Gradual, indeed. It has been almost 10 years since their first album. That is a long time compared to some of these "MySpace bands".
My Morning Jacket is that band, for me anyways. Make sure to watch them on Saturday Night Live...THIS SATURDAY. May 10. With the overrated Shia LaBeouf.
